As a family-owned venture capital firm in the Philippines, one of Pinetree Capital’s goals is to get families in the Philippines to work together for greater value generation. In an effort to build the community, Pinetree Capital took the initiative to hold this celebration.

It was a night of music that featured one the country’s oldest jazz bands, The Executives. Their setlist contained classics from the Great American Songbook which the crowd enjoyed. The night’s guest of honor, Belgian Consul Cécile Thoen, rendered a song together with the band.

The night’s host was model, TV Host, former Ateneo Blue Eagle court-side reporter, and Miss World Philippines 2017, Laura Lehmann. AAP Board Trustee, Toni Urrutia, gave the welcoming address. Barangay San Lorenzo’s Chairman Ernie Moya gave the keynote speech along with Chairman Rick Sobreviñas of the American Association of the Philippines (AAP) who also gave his remarks. The speakers applauded the diversity in the room, thanking the various communities in attendance for their continued support in upholding the country’s global friendships.

When we celebrate diversity through events like these, we strengthen our bond as a community. No matter where we came from, no matter where we’re going, we are walking towards the same goal: to become better.

Pinetree Capital has always been committed in strengthening the Philippines’ foreign relations by fostering community events such as this. Toni Urrutia, Board Trustee of the AAP, managed to summarize the event perfectly with her words, “When we celebrate diversity through events like these, we strengthen our bond as a community. No matter where we came from, no matter where we’re going, we are walking towards the same goal: to become better.” This event hinged on that —advancing growth and nurturing community.
